Latrobe Art Center will host the opening reception for the 14th annual Mister Fred Rogers Fine Arts Juried Exhibition 5-7 p.m Friday.
Nearly 50 of the participating artists who created the 75 pieces in the exhibition are expected at the reception.
The exhibition will run through Sept. 30.
Justin Gunther, director of Frank Lloyd Wright’s Fallingwater and vice president of the Western Pennsylvania Conservancy, served as the juror and judge for the exhibition. The pieces chosen include two- and three-dimensional works, paintings of a variety of mediums and photography.
Gunther will judge the works prior to the show’s opening reception during a private evaluation. The ballot includes categories like the Ned J. Nakles Award for Excellence in Oil/Acrylic, Mister Fred Rogers Award of Distinction and Best in Show.
Artists in the exhibition could be chosen by Greater Latrobe high school, junior high and elementary school students to have their work permanently displayed in the district’s Special Arts Collection.
