LYNCHBURG, Va. (WSET) — Lynchburg Police are investigating graffiti at Peaks View Park.
There was graffiti on signs, in bathrooms, and on other property at the park.
According to Chris Higgins, the Park Services Manager with Lynchburg Parks and Recreation, they got the report about the graffiti on Sunday.
After that, they contacted the police.
Higgins said maintenance has been working to clean it up as fast as possible.
Chip Brooks, a building maintenance employee with Lynchburg Public Works was there all morning on Tuesday doing the cleanup.
“I just hope something is done because this is just, like I said, it’s getting out of hand,” Brooks said.
Higgins also said this is the second time this month there’s been graffiti at the park.
This time though, he said it was more widespread.
Higgins said graffiti is more common at the downtown parks, not at Peaks View.
