Collingwood’s downtown core will once again be turned into an art gallery for the annual Art on the Street event.
Beginning on the May long weekend and sticking around until Thanksgiving, Art on the Street is hosted by the town and the Collingwood Downtown Business Improvement Area (BIA).
For the duration, downtown lamp posts will display banners showcasing art in mediums including stained glass, jewellery, wood carvings, sculpture, photography, painting, and more.
Also returning this year will be the art chairs, which feature painted art on a Muskoka chair instead of a canvas.
The town and BIA are currently looking for artists interested in having their work featured in Art on the Street. There is no fee to enter, and all submissions will be considered by a panel and chosen based on creativity, originality, and artistic balance. The selected artists will be listed in a print and digital brochure advertising their name, website, and contact information.
Complete details and applications for both the chair and banner submissions are available at www.collingwooddowntown.com or by contacting [email protected].
