BALTIMORE COUNTY, MD — Baltimore County police are investigating what they called a hate crime after authorities discovered antisemitic graffiti at a Jewish cemetery this week.
According to police, officers from the White Marsh precinct were called to Ner Tamid Cemetery in Rosedale around 3 p.m. Wednesday, where they found an antisemitic symbol spray painted on a cemetery wall.
According to a WBAL report, the graffiti included a swastika and other images.

Police said investigators documented the graffiti and are actively investigating the incident as a hate crime.
Cemetery workers are working to remove the graffiti, police said.

Baltimore County police chief Robert McCullough spoke about the incident during a public safety meeting Wednesday, according to WBAL.
“Any time there’s any type of hate crime or any type of destruction of property related to those types of things, we’re always concerned in Baltimore County,” McCullough said. “We always document and investigate those types of incidents, and I’m sure that we will be dedicating all resources to investigating that issue.”
