The Apecoin DAO has proposed the creation of an NFT Community Vault as a sub-DAO to acquire culturally significant and influential NFTs from the Web3 ecosystem.
The proposal (AIP-297) seeks an initial budget of 750,000 APE from the ApeCoin DAO Treasury for the community operations vault. This ‘sister DAO’ will potentially purchase NFTs from the ecosystem with the goal of further enhancing the credibility of the native APE token.
“Acquired NFTs will be housed in a community-driven vault with clear reporting and transparency provided by the committee, with key decisions made through a vote by APCoin holders,” the forum post published in July read. ”
With the proposal, the ApeCoin community aims to boost the adoption of APE as the community-driven vault will serve as a catalyst for the development of the token in the NFT ecosystem.
The proposal is co-written by Animoca brand executives, including Chairman Yat Siu and Head of Projects Tyler Durden, “with the express intention of increasing AppCoin influence in the Web3.”
There are currently 73% votes in favor of the proposal and 27% against it and voting is live till September 21.
