What would you do if you were given a glass bottle, air-drying clay and molds shaped as frogs, dragonflies and the like?
If you were John Vandebrooke, you would cover the bottle in the clay and affix little creatures—shaped by the molds—to the bottle. You’d take a picture of each side of your bottle and your mind would suddenly imagine these photos in a series. You’d stumble upon an artificial intelligence (AI) generator that would make your photos look as if you’d peeled off the top layer to expose the inner workings. You’d test one of your photos in this generator, delighting yourself with the results, and you’d design an art show based on it.
