City organizes vigil Oct. 8 in response to racist graffiti

LACONIA — The recent appearance of antisemitic graffiti suggests there are some in the region who harbor hostility toward Jewish people and other groups. A vigil, planned for Sunday, Oct. 8, is an opportunity for the community to show support for a vision of a city that is welcoming, supportive and safe for all of its members.

The vigil is planned for 1 p.m. on Oct. 8 at Opechee Park. In a prepared statement, read into the record at Monday night’s city council meeting, Mayor Andrew Hosmer invited the public to join the vigil.
