Graffiti sprayed on American tank in city; street department to remove vandalism

SHAMOKIN — Graffiti was recently sprayed onto an American tank on West Water Street between Market and Sixth streets and the city street department plans on removing the vandalism as soon as possible.

The graffiti, which includes obscene words and symbols, was sprayed on all sides of the M60A3 tank that was donated to the City of Shamokin more than 20 years ago as a monument. Fort Indiantown Gap officials facilitated efforts to move the tank from its facility to the city.
