Art and Art History Visiting Assistant Professor Rachael Marne Jones is the juror for the 2023 New York State Juried Art Exhibit at the Frederic Remington Art Museum. The exhibit will be available from September 30, 2023 through January 13, 2024.
43 works were selected for the exhibit in media such as drawing, painting, photography, sculpture, and mixed media. Professor Jones said about the show, in her role as juror, “I was delighted by the variation of work. Careful consideration was taken to curate an exhibition of works that responded well to one another, while still showcasing the breadth of talent evident in upstate New York. Thank you to all the artists who submitted their artwork, it was a pleasure to see what you all have been working on!”
Many of the works will be for sale at the museum and the exhibit will be viewable online at www.fredericremington.org. Artwork can be purchased online through the Frederic Remington Art Museum Shop. One third of the proceeds from a sale benefits the Frederic Remington Art Museum and two thirds goes to the artist.
There was also an Opening Reception on Saturday, September 30, from 2-4 PM.
Admission to the exhibit is $10. The Remington is located at 303 Washington Street, Ogdensburg, NY 13669 ( On Google Maps )
