The Fall Gallery Night in Stoughton is back from 5-9 p.m. that night, when four Main Street art galleries will be hosting events: Abel Contemporary Gallery, 524 E. Main St., Grand Inspired, 501 E. Main St., Woodland Studios, 195 E. Main St., and Zovar Fine Art, 143 E. Main St.
Abel Contemporary Gallery has a reputation as one of the largest and most impressive collections of fine art and fine craft in the region, featuring notable works in many media, and hosting new exhibits every six to seven weeks by artists with national prominence alongside the work of well-known local artists. The 8,000 square foot gallery is housed in a beautifully renovated former tobacco warehouse built in 1891.
Grand Inspired Gallery is located just a block west of Abel. It has brought new life to what was once a Hudson Automobile dealership, now filled with a woodworking Makerspace and artist’s gallery. The work within Grand Inspired blends artistry with utility. Here you can find art to both furnish and add flourish to your home.
Woodland Studios Fine Art Gallery is right in the center of Historical Downtown Stoughton. They specialize in local and regional artists in a wide variety of mediums from original paintings and wall art, sculpture, glass, pottery and custom-made furniture in many art styles. The Zovar Fine Art gallery is just a few steps west of Woodland Studios. It comes to life with Ray’s sculptures, paintings, and mosaic furniture. His use of color and light creates an upbeat and engaging atmosphere, most clearly apparent in his current luminous sculptures. Ray’s studio is in the rear of the gallery, so you can see not only his completed work but also what’s currently in progress
