Thursday, Oct. 5 – First Thursdays Street Gallery– Join us in the Pearl District for the final First Thursday event of the season. Come experience the work of local artists and makers from 5-9 p.m. at NW 13th Plaza on NW 13th Avenue between Everett and NW Irving streets. This event is sponsored by the Urban Art Network.
Tuesday, Oct. 10 – Threshold Brewing Makers’ Market – Stop by Montavilla Plaza at SE 79th Avenue and Stark Street to enjoy local craft beer and shop for locally made goods. Market runs from 4-9 p.m. For more information, please visit Threshold Brewing.
Thursday, Oct. 19 – SoulFul Thursdays – Come on down to the newly painted Dream Street Plaza to enjoy music from DJ Solo, fall activities and local vendors from 3-8 p.m. Dream Street is located at NE Sumner Street, just west of Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard.

New Street Painting Design and Live Music at Pride Plaza

Come on down to Pride Plaza located at SW Harvey Milk Street between W Burnside Street and SW 12th Avenueto experience the new street painting celebrating the LGBTQIA+ history of Harvey Milk Ave. A new rainbow theme painting now covers the street and extends to People’s Bike Library of Portland sculpture. The painting brings new life to the plaza. Check it out on your next shopping trip to John Fluevog and Vans shoe shops or your next meal at Jake’s Famous Crawfish or McMenamins Zeus Café. |
This summer PBOT Public Plazas partnered with Music Portland to bring live music to the plazas. On Sept. 18th Dune Laila and Jermaine performed a Living Room Session at Pride Plaza. It was a beautiful day in the plaza as people stopped to check out the tunes, some even joined in with some dance moves. After her performance Dune Laila (@dunelaila) had this to say about the Music Portland Living Room Sessions, “I am happy to support live music around the city- especially free music for everyone. I like making people’s day better, even if it’s for a couple seconds!”

What is the Portland Public Street Plaza Program?
Originally started during the Covid-19 pandemic to assist businesses and Portlanders, PBOTs Public Street Plaza program-built partnerships with community and local businesses to transform select streets into public spaces for cultural events, street fairs, pop-up markets, and more. The program uses PBOT’s Livable Streets Strategy, adopted by Portland City Council in 2017 as its policy foundation to turn streets into inclusive public spaces that foster public life. In 2022 PBOT’s Planning team started work to turn the temporary, pandemic-era program into a permanent Street Plaza program. This program continues to allow PBOT to act on its values around climate action, mobility for all, and building community by creating public spaces that all Portlander should be able to use and enjoy.
Portland Public Street Plazas Funded by the American Rescue Plan
This project is funded by the American Rescue Plan, a federal economic stimulus bill designed to help communities recover from the COVID-19 pandemic and economic recession. The City of Portland is receiving $208 million of local recovery funds. Investments focus on three key priorities: houselessness response and household stabilization, business and commercial district stabilization, and community health and safety.
The City of Portland ensures meaningful access to city programs, services, and activities to comply with Civil Rights Title VI and ADA Title II laws and reasonably provides: translation, interpretation, modifications, accommodations, alternative formats, auxiliary aids and services.
