‘It feels like dancing’: Street artist fatspatrol on the empowerment she finds in her painting

Street art has long been dominated by dudes, but Toronto artist fatspatrol is helping to change that, one gorgeous mural at a time.

This month is a big one for fatspatrol (given name Fathima Mohiuddin). After years of creating acclaimed large-scale murals in public spaces, she brought her work indoors for her very first solo gallery show, “The Humans,” at the Worth Gallery in Toronto, and she has a new community-inspired mural being unveiled at the West Shore Skate Spot at the West Shore Community Centre in Pickering on Wednesday.
