Legends, artists and fans attend the inaugural Hip-Hop Cultural Summit in Wilmington

About 1,000 hip-hop fans and enthusiasts attended the inaugural Hip-Hop Cultural Summit at the Delaware Art Museum in Wilmington on Saturday.

The family-friendly event was held in celebration of hip-hop’s 50th anniversary.

It featured panel discussions, including the well-attended Legends of Hip Hop panel, facilitated by Richard Raw and featuring Wilmington native Young Guru, a longtime engineer for Jay-Z, as well as duo Flex and Hated, Marchitect, Hezekiah, Real McCoy Troy (stepping in for Grand G) and Zav.

Doors opened at 10 a.m. and saw hip-hop legends, artists, fans and enthusiasts come together to celebrate the rich history of hip-hop.

Additional highlights included famed DJs spinning, graffiti artists and lessons, break dance performances and lessons, art/photo exhibits (including photos from the archives of The News Journal), complimentary breakfast, barbecues and more.

The summit was presented by AllHipHop.com, Guerrilla Republik and the Delaware Art Museum.
