Assembly House 150 is one of the most unique and inspirational “art, design and construction incubator and experiential learning centers” in the world. And it’s located in Buffalo, NY.
Founded and orchestrated by Dennis Maher, this living workshop and design studio continues to evolve in ways that must be seen to be believed, appreciated, and better understood. While the ever-evolving, complex-yet-ethereal space – established in a former church at 150 Edward Street – is typically occupied by tradespeople, artists, designers, architects, artisans, planners, preservationists, students, and apprentices, on Thursday, October 19 the community is invited to step inside its doors for “A Dive Deep into a world of Art, Design, and Construction!”
“Every visitor to this space is a conduit in a holistic project that re-imagines relationships between work and life, construction and art, past and future,” said Maher, who founded the experimental art, architecture, and construction incubator inside the former Immaculate Conception church. “Our events are portals into new ways of seeing and engaging the world.”
A visit to Assembly House 150 is a wondrous look into the world of architecture and built design that is unlike anything that we have ever seen or experienced. The interior of the vaulted space is “an assemblage of architectural fragments, sculptural environments, models, and other artifacts” that have been pieced together to create a one-of-a-kind creative orbit.
