Three teens arrested in Plattsburgh for vandalizing mural, public spaces with graffiti

Three teenagers were arrested in Plattsburgh over the weekend after police said they vandalized multiple public spaces with graffiti.The Plattsburgh Police Department arrested 18-year-old Nathan Beckham of Plattsburgh, along with two underage teens, whose names were not released, following an investigation into graffiti seen on Saturday, Oct. 7.Investigators said patrol officers located multiple instances of graffiti, including the Jean Arthur mural on Protection Avenue, the Smith Weed Bridge, the pavilion on the Durkee Street parking lot and river walk and the JCEO building.All three were charged with criminal mischief. Beckham was processed and released on an appearance ticket to appear in court at a later date. The underage teens were released and referred to the Clinton County Probation Diversion program.
