Innovation in Rural America Exhibition “Spark! Places of Innovation,” a traveling exhibition from the Smithsonian, highlights how innovation has shaped small towns across the country. The free exhibition examines the ingenuity and tenacity of rural America. The Herrett Center for Arts & Science and the surrounding community have been chosen by the Idaho Humanities Council to host “Spark!” as part of the Museum on Main Street program — a national/state/local partnership to bring exhibitions and programs to rural cultural organizations. The Herrett Center for Arts and Science is located on the northeast side of the College of Southern Idaho main campus in Twin Falls. The museum’s public hours are Tuesdays and Fridays 9:30 a.m. to 9:00 p.m., Wednesdays and Thursdays 9:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., and Saturdays 1 to 9 p.m.

Ski Swap A ski swap is an opportunity to buy or sell used equipment or new equipment. Individuals can enter the equipment they want into the swap, then anyone can buy that equipment. There will also be vendors with surplus new equipment to choose from. New or used gear that could be available for purchase are skis, snowboards, ski and snowboard boots, bindings, coats, ski pants and more. Thursday, gear drop off 5 to 9 p.m.; Friday, swap open noon to 8 p.m.; Saturday, swap open 9 a.m. to 6 p.m., Sunday, gear pick up 8 a.m. to noon.

Twin Falls Public Library’s Toddler Time Toddler Time is designed for children in the 18-month to 3-year-old group. We know that this age group gets the wiggles, so there are lots of opportunities for movement and books that are appropriate for their attention span followed by playtime! 10:30-11 a.m.

Twin Falls Public Library’s Open Mic Night: Scary Stories & Poetry Share your scary, creepy, and thrilling short stories and poetry at this open mic night on Oct. 26 at 6:30 p.m. Read original works, works from your favorite authors, or just come to listen! Sign-up to read at the event — five-minute time limit per reading. This program is geared toward adults.

Digital Art Basics at Twin Falls Public Library Unleash your creativity and learn the basics of digital art at our free Digital Art Class the last Friday of every month at 4:00 pm. Whether you’re a beginner or just want to brush up on your skills, this class is perfect for anyone looking to explore the world of digital art. Learn the basics of digital painting and drawing, and learn the tools and techniques you need to create stunning digital art. Preschool Storytime Preschool Storytime, from 10:30 to 11 a.m., at the Twin Falls Public Library, is designed for kids who are 4 to 5 years old. This storytime uses the five early literacy practices — sing, talk, read, write, and play. Each storytime features a letter, books that are a little longer and a little more complex to get us ready to sit in a classroom, and lots of fun rhymes and songs.

Comedy Behind The Curtain: The HA-HAunting Improvised comedy theater performed by some of The Orpheum Theatre’s finest regular comedians. This Oct. 27 and 28, the Orpheum Theatre premieres a show unlike anything you’ve seen! Comedy Behind The Curtain. Improv comedy meets theater in a hilarious spectacle as 6 comedians perform an Improvised One-Act Play based entirely on your suggestion, but there’s a twist… They will be performing on the set of The Orpheum’s current production having never seen it before! It just so happens that this performance will end up using the set from: The Evil Dead. Children’s tour The African Childen’s Choir 2023 U.S. Tour will perform at 7 p.m. at the Kingdom Church, 910 Shoshone St E. in Twin Falls. The choir is composed of African children, aged 10 to 12 years old, all who come from vulnerable backgrounds and have faced hardship and lack of education. However, they represent the potential of the African child to become leaders for a better future. It’s part of a larger, international, Christian organization called Music for Life, which provides thousands of impoverished children throughout Africa with the education, discipleship, and leadership skills needed to rise above their conditions so they can bring positive, lasting change to their families, communities and countries.

Trunk or treat The Serenity Transitional Care, 1230 Cheney Dr., will hold a trunk or treat at 6 p.m. that is open to the public.

Halloween Scavenger Party A Halloween Scavenger Hunt takes place from 3 to 6 p.m. at 1550 Oriental Ave., Burley. Hosted by Mary Lou’s Greenhouse andKeely Richman Photography. Dress up in your spooky fun costumes and come track down all your treats in this Halloween Scavenger Hunt around the greenhouse and flower shop. Keely Richman Photography will be there taking your Halloween pictures with a spooky fall backdrop.

Voices Against Violence fundraiser Skywest employees and Voices Against Violence is having a fundraiser at Putters Mini Golf, 1821 Canyon Crest Dr. in Twin Falls. There will be dinner and drinks, costume contest, raffle and prizes and mini-golf. Registration begins at 5 p.m. with the event starting at 6 p.m. Call 208-731-6755 to register.

Trunk or treat Smiles 4 Kids, 1411 Falls Ave., will host a trunk or treat from 5 to 7 p.m.

Trunk or treat Wolverton Homes, 1629 Locust St. N., will host a trunk or treat from 4 to 6 p.m.

Trunk or Treat Heritage Assisted Living Center, 622 Filer Ave. W., Twin Falls, is having a trunk or treat from 6 to 8 p.m.

Halloween Party Stone House & Company with Music Monkey Productions presents “The Enchanted Forest” Halloween Costume Party at 8 p.m. at the Stone House, 330 4th Ave. S. There will be a full bar, hors d’oeuvres, door prizes and a best costume contest. This is an ages 21 and up event.

Read & Treat Join the Twin Falls Public Library for our special Read & Treat event at City Park! Come by the City Park anytime between 11 a.m. and 1 p.m. Show off your costume as you stroll through our Not-So Spooky Storywalk! Get treats from costumed librarians, and make sure to stop by the Fall Photo Station to get a cool pic of your costume!

Trick or Treat Main Street Trick or Treat Main Street takes place from 2 to 4 p.m. on Main Avenue between Jerome and Fairfield streets in Twin Falls.

Harvest festival The Twin Falls Senior Center, 530 Shoshone St. W., will host a harvest festival from 4 to 10 p.m.

Magic Valley Market Cashmere Pumpkin is holding a Magic Valley Market from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the E Street Community Center, 1751 Elizabeth Blvd. in Twin Falls, that will include shopping, door prizes and giveaways.

Trunk or treat The Walker Center, 1928 State Highway 46 in Gooding, will hold a trunk or treat from 10 to 2 p.m. Enjoy treats, food trucks, and a community resource fair.

Harvest Party River Christian Church, 4012 N. 3300 East, will hold a harvest party from 1 to 4 p.m. with free games, candy, jump houses, laser tag, fair food, a petting zoo, balloon animals and more. Food vendors will also be on site.

Halloween Party Bowladrome, 220 Eastland Dr., Twin Falls, will host a Halloween Party at 7 p.m. with live music by the Shenanigans, specials and activities for adults and children.

Trunk or treat The Valley Christian Church (Disciples of Christ), 272 Maurice St., N is holding an event from 6 to 8 p.m.

Magic Philharmonic Orchestra This is the Magic Philharmonic “Halloween Magic Through Music” Concert “Spook”-tacular! Join us at 7:30 as we play wonderful Halloween-inspired music under the baton of our own Roger Turner. King Fine Arts Center, 2100 Parke Ave., in Burley. $3-$10

Trunk or treat Middlekauff Automall, 1243 Blue Lakes Blvd. N., will hold its annual trunk or treat from 3 to 6 p.m.

Trunk or treat Premier Autogroup, 679 Pole Line, Twin Falls, will have a trunk or treat from 1 to 5 p.m. Bring your children dressed in costumes. There will also be cookies and hot chocolate and please vote for your favorite trunk.

Trunk or treat The Filer Events Committee is having a trunk or treat from 5 to 7 p.m. Trunk vendors can show off their creativity for a $200 cash prize. Visit its website to enter. It will start near the American Legion building and parking is available at the fairgrounds. Food vendors will be on site.
