Art Director, Digital & Brand at Marc Jacobs

OVERVIEW:

Marc Jacobs International, powered by the creative genius of Marc Jacobs, seeks an Art Director, Digital & Brand to join the CMO organizationbased in its New York City (SoHo) headquarters.

The Art Director, Digital & Brand will be responsible for managing the look and feel of all digital creative, as well as working on brand creative, as needed. The individual in the role will tackle projects from both a strategic and creative point of view, and bring a positive, can-do attitude to the work. The ideal candidate will want to work in a fast-paced collaborative environment, can work independently, while adhering to project timelines.

This newly created role reports to the Chief Marketing Officer and will manage a team of Graphic Designers and the brand’s Copy Writer. Key partners include Brand Art Director, External Brand Consultants, Global Marketing, Media & Events, E-Commerce, Content Production and Marketing Operations.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

In partnership with Brand Art Director:Oversee creative of marcjacobs.com globally, inclusive of navigation, content hierarchy, editorial content, PDP, copy & storytelling.Collaborate with Brand Art Director, Marketing, Site Merchandising, Digital and UX teams to create engaging, cohesive, on- brand website.Translate brand and seasonal vision for the digital space.Create concepts for all ecommerce creative updates, in an elevated yet commercially viable fashion.Art direct e-commerce PDP and still life shoots.Design and manage all site and digital media imagery (banners, product images, carousel images, etc).Seek ways to enhance e-commerce experience (focus on mobile first and responsive design).Exceptionally skilled at image curation, visual storytelling, typography, layout, form and color.Work with Brand Art Director and External Brand Consultant on brand media, and other brand creative, as needed.QUALIFICATIONS:

Minimum of 12+ years digital art direction and graphic design experience.Bachelor’s degree or higher, or equivalent combination of education, experience and training required.Strong portfolio that illustrates high quality digital design techniques and refined sensibilities.Fashion/beauty/editorial background preferred.Photoshop expert level and superior Adobe Creative Suite knowledge.Knowledge of CSS, HTML and video editing are a plus.Knowledge of SFCC a plus.Stays current with evolving technology and design landscape. Strong understanding of the contemporary fashion, digital, and retail spaces.Team player with a drive to win.Ability to flex creatively and strategically, absorbing insights and business needs while always maintaining the highest standards of creative integrity.Collaborative leadership style with strong cross-functional partnership abilities.Strong communication skills with the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.Resourceful and proactive, with strong project management, planning and prioritization skills.

SALARY & BENEFITS:

The compensation for this position ranges from

$140,000- $170,000

(annually). The rate of pay offered will be dependent upon candidate’s relevant skills and experience.
