2. Art Lane
If there’s one thing we adore, it’s a neighbourhood revitalisation project with an artistic twist – and that’s exactly what you’ll discover at Art Lane in Sai Ying Pun. This enclave has undergone a trendy transformation, turning into an outdoor gallery through a collaborative effort between local and international artists. Prepare to be mesmerised as you wander through Ki Ling Lane and Chung Ching Street, where murals and paintings now grace the walls. While the rainbow staircase near the MTR station is a must-see, we recommend taking a leisurely stroll through the connecting alleys to uncover hidden gems. 4. Rich View Terrace
Created by LA artist Lauren YS, the “Mind Temple” mural at Rich View Terrace is a feast for the eyes. With beautiful hues of green, blue, and pink, it evokes the magic of dawn’s first light and provides a soothing sanctuary amidst the urban jungle. Lauren brilliantly incorporated elements reflecting the neighbourhood’s character, like the dragon design parallel to the stairs. Her goal was to create a space for mental wellness, inspired by her twin’s time in Hong Kong. We adore the rebellious spray paint textures paired with a calming colour palette.

6. Uma Nota
This vibrant facade for Uma Nota restaurant is the masterpiece of HK-based French artist Elsa Jeandedieu. She brilliantly blends patterns and realism in an explosion of feel-good colours. The owners dreamed of a joyful artwork fusing Brazilian and Japanese culture, and Elsa delivered. We adore how this show-stopping mural practically pops off the wall. Photos don’t do it justice – you need to see its brilliance in person.

7. Kam Tin Mural Village
As it turns out, not all of Hong Kong’s street art exists within the concrete jungle. For a dose of culture, head to Kam Tin’s Mural Village. Under art teacher Kwok Yin-ming’s guidance, students have transformed the area into an open-air gallery. Their ambition was to bridge tradition with artistic expression and foster community connection, and boy, have they succeeded! Surreal scenes from village life, cheeky cats, and imaginative renderings cover every available surface. Scroll through the narrow lanes in person to unveil a wonderland of student dreams, vividly brought to life – don’t just scroll it in your feed, Honeys!

If the concrete jungle’s hustle has you longing for a beach getaway, plan an art-filled escape to Sai Kung’s Man Yee Wan Recreation Centre. The mural by Elsa Jeandedieu is a comforting sight for tired urbanites. Similar to her work at Uma Nota, this piece demonstrates her knack for seamlessly fusing nature, culture, and self-expression. Take a tip from us: combine mural viewing with a walk through the bustling weekend markets in the area. Browse the stalls as you soak up the relaxed Sai Kung vibes.
