ELLENVILLE, N.Y. — A Lake Katrine man was responsible for more than 27 incidents of graffiti in the village’s business district, police said Monday.
Christopher J. Broskie, 30, of Lake Katrine, was arrested by Ellenville police and charged with making graffiti and criminal mischief, both misdemeanors. His arrest followed a two-week investigation determined he painted the tags.
“The desecration of any property is horrific, but the desecration of businesses which are owned and operated by our local hard-working business owners is particularly abhorrent,” Ellenville Police Chief Philip Mattracion said in a Facebook post. “Clearly all of our community has not only a right, but an expectation that their property will be free of vandalism, and it’s my agency’s responsibility to make sure of it.”
Broskie was released with tickets for Ellenville Village Court.
