The holiday season offers many opportunities for families and friends to come together to celebrate and to get started on shopping and gift giving.
In Alamogordo, the annual parade, live music and a parent friendly event at the library mark the season.
Here’s a list of events to be aware of in the coming weeks.
Cowboy Christmas Parade of Lights
The Alamogordo Chamber of Commerce will host its annual Christmas Parade of Lights featuring a Cowboy theme this year.
Residents and companies interested in being a part of the parade can register at 2420 North White Sands Boulevard, at the Casa y Tierra company. Registration is open through Nov. 24.

Side Street Art Project and Small Business Saturday
The Alamogordo Small Business Development Center and Alamogordo MainStreet will celebrate the “Side Street Art Project” along with Small Business Saturday just after Thanksgiving.
The event will feature live music from Guy Miller. Local businesses will offer deals to shoppers for Small Business Saturday.

Alamogordo Library free gift wrap station
The Alamogordo Public Library is offering a free gift wrapping station.
