Bounce Beach in Montauk was tagged with antisemitic grafitti, apparently in the overnight house from Friday to Saturday.
East Hamtpon Town police are canvassing downtown Montauk after new antisemitic grafitti was discovered Saturday morning on the side of Bounce Beach Montauk on South Emerson Street.
The nightclub, which is closed for the season, “appears to have been tagged during the overnight hours,” East Hampton Town Police Chief Michael Sarlo said in an email Saturday morning. “Patrols are actively canvassing for any other acts of vandalism. At this time nothing else has been discovered.”
At 7:30 a.m., the detective division was still processing the scene, the chief said.
A previous investigation, of a spate of antisemitic grafitti discovered in Montauk on the morning of Oct. 30 is ongoing, the chief said. Police have asked anyone with information about that incident to contact detectives at 631-537-7575.
“This second act is obviously very disturbing. We fully grasp the impact on our community,” Chief Sarlo wrote.
This is a developing story that will be updated as more information becomes available.
