The Snails at Joyland, which have delighted millions of people since they arrived at the seafront theme park in 1949, have been enshrined into a piece of street art on the funfair’s promenade wall.
The mural also contains some of Great Yarmouth’s historic landmarks, including the Empire and St George’s Theatre.
More than 120 people from the Magdalen Estate, Barrack Estate and Cobholm helped design the mural alongside Reprezent Project and Freshly Greated, with funding from Arts Council England.

The project was overseen by Reprezent Project artist Joey La Meche, who is known for creating theReprezent Project’s chairman Ruben Cruz said: “The community canvas approach has resulted in something really special, and we are already seeing people having their photographs taken for social media.”
The Snails were designed by Horace Cole, grandfather of current Joyland owner Michael Cole, and built by the family’s Cobholm-based engineering firm H. Cole and Company.
