QUINCY – Quincy is alert this morning after an official memo from educators went out about threatening graffiti that was found at the high school early Tuesday.
Quincy School District sent a letter to parents informing them that the graffiti message implied that a school shooting would take place at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, despite there being half days this week due to parent-teacher conferences.
Law enforcement believes the threat isn’t credible, but police presence at Quincy schools has been heightened as a precaution.
A large number of students in the district have opted not to go to school as a result of the incident. Quincy Police have not made any arrests, but there is security footage capturing three people responsible for the offensive signage. Their presence on school grounds was captured around midnight. A photo of the trio may be released in the near future to help identify them.
The graffiti at the high school was erased before students showed up to school on Tuesday.
