For a small retailer to land a “major” line of apparel is a big deal. When Giovanni Centurione, owner of Trend Up in Allentown, heard that his store had been selected to be the exclusive WNY retailer of Buffalo Bills safety Damar Hamlin’s clothing brand – Chasing Millions – he was over the moon. Never in a million years did he think that he would be called upon to be the distinguished merchant to sell Hamlin’s on-point hoodies and sweatpants.
“When they called me, I said, ‘Let me see what he’s got,” said Centurione [laughing]. “Of course I was going to carry whatever it was, regardless.”
Centurione has now been in business for almost eight years. In that time, he has built a loyal customer base due to his proven track record for carrying the hottest brands that he can get his hands on. Hamlin’s line of streetwear is just another example of how Centurione’s dedication to his customers is paying off.
“Damar’s line of streetwear is cool, somewhat contemporary, and a good fit for the store,” said Centurione. “We’re carrying his zip-up hoodies, and his hats, which are red and blue of course. There’s already a lot of hype about this on social media – it’s going viral. People are messaging me like crazy, asking when we’re officially dropping the line, which is going to be this coming Friday, at 11am.”
Hamlin’s Chasing Millions joins a number of other coveted Trend Up brands that include Billie Essco (@uptownchase) and his Cafe+Czen snapbacks and hoodies (collab with Quaker Boy), as well as Sugar Hill, and First Row. The classics are also stocked, including Supreme, Essentials, and Ksubi. In recent months, Trend Up has also branched out into selling full vinyl records (new and classic R&B and hip-hop) per customer request, as well as record players.
Damar Hamlin captured the hearts of millions of football fans around the world, who prayed for his speedy recovery after suffering a cardiac arrest on the playing field back in January. Since that time, he has bounced back in true blue Buffalo fashion, by concentrating on the game, and his love of stylish streetwear.
