Thanksgiving DinnerA free community Thanksgiving Dinner will be hosted at the Elks Lodge, 85 S. 200 W., Rupert, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Donations will be accepted for the dinner and proceeds will benefit area charities supported by the Lodge.

Innovation in Rural America Exhibition“Spark! Places of Innovation,” a traveling exhibition from the Smithsonian, highlights how innovation has shaped small towns across the country. The free exhibition examining the ingenuity and tenacity of rural America. The Herrett Center for Arts & Science and the surrounding community has been chosen by the Idaho Humanities Council to host the exhibition. The Herrett Center for Arts and Science is on the northeast side of the College of Southern Idaho main campus in Twin Falls. The museum’s public hours are Tuesdays and Fridays 9 a.m. to 9 p.m., Wednesdays and Thursdays 9:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., and Saturdays 1 to 9 p.m.

Christmas in

Nighttime SkyThe 32nd Annual Christmas in the Nighttime Sky festivities, featuring food, gift donations, fireworks, plus bonfires to keep everyone warm, will start at 5:30 p.m. at Kimberly Nurseries, 2862 Addison Ave. E. in Twin Falls. Free bus rides to the event will be available at the Lighthouse Christian Church parking lot from 5 to 7 p.m. A chili/potato dinner is from 5:30 to 7 p.m. and choreographed fireworks go off at 7:30 p.m. Admission is one unwrapped new toy appropriate from infant to 16 years old. Toys will be distributed to children throughout Magic Valley. Police officers will start closing down roads for the event at 5 p.m. Addison Avenue from Eastland Drive to Hankins Road and Filer from Meadowview Lane to Hankins Road will be closed to vehicle traffic. Addison Avenue will remain closed until the event is over.

Black Friday moviesEnjoy $5 movies from 8 to 11 a.m. at Magic Valley Cinema, 1485 Pole Line Road East. Upgrade fees may apply. Tickets available on www.cinemawest.com.

Teen climbingTeenagers can climb and hang with friends at Gemstone Climbing, 135 5th Ave. S. in Twin Falls, Fridays from 4 to 9 p.m. Price is $10.

Baby Play DateInstead of storytime during the week of Thanksgiving, each age group will have their very own play date. Baby Play Date starts at 10 a.m. at the Twin Falls Public Library. We’ll bring out extra toys and have play areas set up all over the children’s department so that kids and caregivers can play and connect.

Free Digital Arts ClassUnleash your creativity and learn the basics of digital art at our free Digital Art Class the last Friday of every month at 4 p.m. at the Twin Falls Public Library. Whether you’re a beginner or just want to brush up on your skills, this class is perfect for anyone looking to explore the world of digital art. Learn the basics of digital painting and drawing, and learn the tools and techniques you need to create stunning digital art.

Christmas light displayOrton Botanical Garden’s “Christmas in the Garden” extravaganza kicks off at 821 Filer Ave. West, Twin Falls. Gates open at 6 p.m. to welcome visitors into a twinkling wonderland. Walk through our enchanted paths adorned with thousands of dazzling Christmas lights. Entrance closes at 9:30 p.m. and gates will close at 10 p.m. Entrance fees are by donation.

Black Friday Indoor ShowThe 4th annual Indoor Black on Friday show takes place at the historic Mountain View Barn in Jerome, 394 East 400 South. The show runs from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Friday and continues through Saturday from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Family LEGO build

Families can drop by from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. to build with the Twin Falls Public Library’s huge Lego collection. Or, take on the engineering challenge if you’re feeling ambitious.

Saturday Matinee

Come join us for a free Saturday Movie Matinee at 3 p.m. at the Twin Falls Public Library To find out what’s playing, check out our website for details.

Tree lighting

Meet at the Hagerman City Park on Saturday at 5 p.m. for the annual Christmas Tree Lighting. There will be a live Nativity and caroling.

STEM Activity

Elementary-age kids, join us Tuesday afternoons at 4 p.m. for hands-on activities designed to get kids excited about Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics. Children under 8 will need help from a grown-up.

Original play

The Ephemerates Theater Collective will present an original play by Burcu Seyben, Local playwright and professor at CSI, at 6:30 p.m. at the Twin Falls Public Library. This play will be done in a Reader’s Theater format and will be followed with a Q&A. Admission is free.

Discussion series

Join our three-part discussion series at 6:30 p.m. at the Twin Falls Public Library, featuring titles about big stories in small towns. This month we’ll discuss “Idaho Falls: The Untold Story of America’s First Nuclear Accident” by William McKeown.

Festival of Lights Parade

First Federal Bank presents the 2023 Festival of Lights Parade in Twin Falls beginning at 6 p.m. The parade route is on Main Ave. from Dierkes Street to Jerome Street. The annual Tree Lighting Ceremony will follow directly after the parade at the Downtown Commons across from City Hall.

St. Nicholas Festival

The Kimberly Business Owners Association, in conjunction with the Kimberly School District, is hosting its 17th annual “St. Nicholas Festival” in Kimberly from 4 to 7 p.m. in front of the L.A. Thomas Gym on Center Street. It is a free community event.
