KIRKSVILLE, Mo. — Pickler Memorial Library at Truman State University has hosted the Missouri-Southern Iowa (MOSI) Fall Art Guild exhibit since 2014.
Located in the cafe, the exhibit features many different pieces of art, ranging from hand-drawn works and digital art to photographs and paintings.
The artists behind the works are varied in their experience and background.
We have a wide range of artists, some professionals, all the way down to native folk artists.” said Jane Lovstuen, the treasurer of MOSI. “We have photographers. We have non-traditional artists. Some people work in pen and ink. Some in constructions, some in oil. Some in acrylic. Some digital art. Some photo manipulations.
Each piece of art was graded and judged earlier in the fall by Brad Beard from Beard’s Gallery in Kirksville, but you can still vote for your favorite piece of art at the exhibit before December 15, 2023.
We still have a People’s Choice Voting Award going on, which will be awarded at the end of the exhibit on Friday, December 15th,” Lovstuen said. “At that point, we will discover who the People’s Choice winner was.
After that, on December 18, 2023, the art will be moved out and placed in other exhibits in the region. When the exhibit returns next fall, you can expect fascinating, interesting and even strange works to come.
Additionally, some of the artwork displayed is for sale. For more information regarding MOSI, the exhibit, and future exhibits. you can visit its website at mosiartguild.org or contact them directly at info@mosiartguild.org
