For those lucky enough not to be back at a checkout or in the office, the days between Christmas and New Year can drag, particularly if there are children looking to be entertained.

Now, SEEK Urban Arts have come up with the an ideal way to tempt people out of the house, away from the TV or games console, to get some exercise, enjoy the fresh air and discover Dundalk’s wonderful street art.

They have organised a 90-minute mural walking tour at 2pm on Thursday, December 28 departing from in front of Dundalk Tourist Office at Market Square. It is a great opportunity to discover the unique stories behind some of the amazing murals created in Dundalk over the past five years.

The tours have proven extremely popular with both local people and visitors.

“We have done over a hundred tours so far this year, with over 2,000 people participating on the tours,” Tourist Officer Sinead Roche said. Public tours take place on the first Friday of each month with the remainder being privately booked by groups.

Tickets are €6 and are available on Eventbrite or directly from Dundalk Tourist Office. Pre-booking is essential as places are limited, please contact 0429352111 with any enquiries.
