REXKL to Open Two New Digital Art Exhibitions in February
REXKL, a cultural hub located in the heart of Kuala Lumpur’s Chinatown, is gearing up to mesmerize art enthusiasts with two new digital art exhibitions at its innovative arts space, RXP.KL. These exhibitions, titled ‘Piying Dream’ and ‘Matter Of Painting’, are set to open their doors on February 9, offering a unique blend of technology and artistic expression.
‘Piying Dream’ and ‘Matter Of Painting’: A Journey of Imagination
The exhibitions are the brainchildren of the lauded Paris-based Danny Rose Studio, in collaboration with Temple of Light. These remarkable installations have previously been showcased in Shanghai, earning widespread acclaim for their innovative approach to digital art.
‘Piying Dream’ brings to life 3,000 meticulously crafted shadow puppets from the Qing Dynasty era. The exhibition serves as a tribute to characters from Chinese literature and mythical creatures, blending historical references with cutting-edge technology.
On the other hand, ‘Matter Of Painting’ transports visitors to 1950s New York, using the concept of ‘action paintings’. This interactive experience allows visitors to engage with the art in a dynamic and engaging way.
Interlude Exhibition: ‘Into The Blue’
In addition to the main exhibitions, visitors will have the opportunity to experience an interlude exhibition titled ‘Into The Blue’. This installation offers a unique visual journey, using moving geometries to captivate the audience and enhance their immersive art experience.
Experience the Artistic Journey at REXKL
REXKL, which previously hosted the successful ‘Other World’ immersive art exhibition, continues its commitment to fostering the arts and culture scene in Kuala Lumpur. Early-bird tickets for the upcoming exhibitions are available until February 4, and the exhibitions will be open to the public from February 9 to September 6. This presents a wonderful opportunity for art lovers to explore the intersection of technology and art in a captivating setting.
