Jen Silverman’s ‘The Roommate’ set to premiere at Cannon Street Art Center in April

PURE Theatre announced Wednesday that “The Roommate,” a comedy play, is set to premiere at Cannon Street Art Center in early April.

Directed by Jen Silverman, the play follows Sharon, a character in her mid-50s who is recently divorced and looking for a roommate to share an Iowa home, and Robyn, also in her mid-50s, needing a place to start over. It is a dark comedy that examines what it takes to re-route life when things don’t go as planned.

“‘The Roommate’ is funny, charming, and daring,” Nakeisha Daniel said. “It sneaks up on you like an unexpected treat. It’s a play that’s sure to surprise the audience in more ways than one.”
