YORK COUNTY, Pa. (WHP) — A swastika has been removed from a local park after multiple photos of the defacing were posted online.
According to York County Parks and Recreations team, the anti-Semitic image was discovered on a rock at the P. Joseph Raab Park on Sunday after a hiker reported it to a park ranger.
The rock was located in the woods around 250 yards back from Trail 1, from the main parking lot.
Parks and Rec officials state the graffiti was removed on Tuesday and that no charges have been filed yet.
Authorities say however that any information that could lead to charges is welcomed by contacting the York County Parks office and asking for the ranger on duty:
This was a rare and unfortunate incident that was discovered within Raab Park. Graffiti of any kind, but especially this has no place within York County Parks and will be removed as quickly as possible. We ask that if you observe graffiti of any kind in York County Parks, to let us know by contacting the Parks Office at 717-840-7440. – Teddy Fisher, Asst. Director of York County Parks
