A member of the news team noticed on Sunday that the building that once housed Burro Loco off Highway 17 had been painted to cover up graffiti that was on the walls.

WMBF News reported last Thursday that the building, which has been vacant since Burro Loco closed in 2018, was a target of recent vandalism and had become an eyesore for folks heading into Myrtle Beach.

A spokesperson for the City of Myrtle Beach said that because the building sits on private property, the owners had 48 hours to clean up any vandalism. It’s unclear when the building was painted.

WMBF News reached out to the Charleston-based owners of the property for comment but has not received a response.
