HKwalls 2024 takes over the streets once again for a celebration of street art

Hong Kong is jam-packed with art events for Art Week, but there’s one you can spot just by walking down the streets: HKwalls 2024.

Hong Kong’s biggest street art festival is returning for its ninth edition. Running from March 23 to 31, HKwalls 2024 will see the walls of Hong Kong transformed by artists from Hong Kong and all over the world.

This year, expect to see the works of Hong Kong artist Lousy as well as a collaboration between Kristopher Ho and Andy Lau on a digital wall. Be on the lookout for three talented young artists — Tom, Siukins, and Wing Mak — from the HKwalls Spring 2024 Youth Mentorship programme, who will each be painting a mural at the Hong Kong Observation Whee,  establishing themselves as artists to watch.

From the rest of the world, we’ll be welcoming HERA and Bond Truluv from Germany, Rabi from the USA, Michal Škapa, aka Tron from Czech Republic, Aches from Ireland, Maye from France, and many more. For the full list of confirmed artists so far, you can check the official webpage.

Last year’s edition of HKwalls’ street art festival also included workshops and events such as a panel discussion, an art cruise, and a live art battle. The full programme for HKwalls 2024 has not been revealed yet, so stay tuned to the official Instagram account for more details.
