Billings City Council approves reward fund for reporting graffiti vandals

BILLINGS, Mont. – The Billings City Council has approved funding Monday which would be used to pay for information leading to the conviction of graffiti vandals.

The money for the fund would be coming from municipal court fines and donations.

“I do feel like if we’re going to get ahead of, or even keep up with, the graffiti that’s going on in this city, we have to encourage people to report, and my primary goal with this fund is to have a reward system,” Tina Hoeger of the City of Billings Planning and Community Service said at the city council meeting.

The resolution suggest a person would be given $500 for information leading to the conviction of a person found guilty of graffiti vandalism.
