Probe Started After Graffiti Found On Delhi Metro Coaches | Delhi News

New Delhi: An investigation has been launched into two cases involving “mysterious” graffiti found on the metro coaches stationed at Yamuna Bank and near Shahdara metro station in east Delhi.
Confirming the development, a senior police officer said the cases have been registered under section 451 (trespassing) of the IPC and the Defacement of Property Act after receiving complaints from the DMRC.
Sources said that the first incident, reported on March 31 at Yamuna Bank metro yard, involved painting random words like AAA and demo. Cops are probing whether some code was written into them.
The other case took place on April 4 near Shahdara metro station and involved the inscription of a phrase. It is being suspected that the perpetrators may have climbed a tree to reach the train.
Police are reviewing the CCTVs footage to identify the culprits and the Special Cell has joined the probe, the officer said, adding the security measures at Delhi Metro stations, which have been heightened, are now under scrutiny following these breaches.
Police are said to be analysing the messages left behind, as they could potentially provide clues to the vandals’ identities or motives. In 2022, an incident of defacing a train was reported from Yamuna Bank metro station.
