HORRY COUNTY, S.C. (WBTW) — The South Carolina Department of Transportation has painted over Highway 501 graffiti after a viewer expressed concerns about it to News13 in February.
The graffiti was painted along Highway 501 at Highway 31 Conway-bound.
The viewer initially reached out to News13 on Feb. 28, expressing frustration over the ongoing spread of graffiti in Horry County. We reached out to the SCDOT that day, and they responded in late March, saying they had plans to paint over the graffiti by the end of April.
When asked if it planned to remove the graffiti from other locations in the county, a spokesperson for the department told News13 they were not sure of other areas that might have been painted over.
However, the spokesperson did encourage anyone to report an issue on a state-maintained roadway by calling 855-467-2368 or by clicking here.
